Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Jura handles information through jura.co.ke and the Jura add-in for Microsoft Word.

Information we process

We process Microsoft account identity details used to authenticate you; subscription, billing-reference and device-session information; support communications; limited service telemetry; and the matter content you choose to use with Jura features. Payment-card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by Jura.

How information is used

We use information to authenticate members, operate and secure workspaces, provide drafting and research features, process subscriptions, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Storage, security and sharing

Jura uses encryption in transit and access controls based on authenticated workspace membership. Before supported AI requests leave the add-in, identifying details are replaced locally with pseudonyms. The local redaction map used to restore those details is encrypted on the user's device and is not sent with the request. Redacted text may be processed by Jura's infrastructure and contracted AI providers to return the requested result.

Evidence uploaded to Jura storage is encrypted on the user's device. Its evidence key is protected by the local device vault and is not stored with the server-side ciphertext. Account identifiers, workspace membership, redacted workspace metadata, service events, billing records and support communications remain visible to Jura where needed to operate, secure and support the service.

Retention and control

We retain account and work-product data while the service is provided and for the periods needed for security, recovery, accounting and legal obligations. You may request access, correction, export or deletion through Jura Support. Some billing or security records may need to be retained by law.

Microsoft data

Microsoft identity information, including name, email address and account identifier, is used for sign-in and account authorization. If separately consented and available, Microsoft Graph Files.ReadWrite access is used only to save a generated document beside its source document in the user's Microsoft storage. If that permission is unavailable, Jura uses a local download instead. Jura does not use Microsoft user data for advertising.

Your choices and safeguards

You control which matter content is submitted to Jura features and should review generated work before using it. Because automated redaction is heuristic, unusual identifiers or uniquely identifying facts may not always be detected. Do not submit material that you are not authorised to process, and contact support if a privacy issue is suspected.

Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Questions and privacy requests can be submitted through Jura Support.
